MOVE SIT WRITE • The Series integrates what I am learning in acupuncture school with my beloved MOVE SIT WRITE workshops. This is done by exploring the Five Elements of Chinese Medicine using yoga, meditation and journaling prompts. Each class starts with a short discussion that informs the way you will move your body, meditate and journal. Students will receive self care homework that is intended to expand upon what was learned in class. I am available for weekly emails and check-ins as needed.
This 6-week series is for individuals of all skill levels who are interested in deepening their movement, meditation and reflection practices, but may not ready for the commitment and price tag that comes with a yoga teacher training or a retreat.
For the late summer installment, we will be exploring the Earth element, which is a perfect balance of yin and yang. All the other elements have a little more of one or the other, but not Earth. It controls the smoothness of our transitions. It is a stabilizing force in our lives. It's a hollow vessel in which we can grow things. This is unsurprisingly the most grounding element. It reflects periods in your life where you've felt like you were settling down or settling into yourself.
We meet for 6 weeks on Thursdays from 7pm to 8:30pm at Mend Therapy, near Loring Park, from July 11-August 15.
The series costs $175. If you'd like to attend, but don't have the full amount, you're welcome to pay a non-refundable $50 deposit to hold your spot. The remainder is due on July 1.
